Introduction to Industrial Agents

Profs. Paulo Leitão e José Barbosa

This presentation discusses the use of multi-agent systems in the implementation of intelligent, dynamic, and self-organizing industrial cyber-physical systems. In this context, successful industrial and research projects will be described, highlighting the results achieved in using agent-based solutions, while also addressing current trends and challenges.

Multi-Agent Programming

Prof. Jomi Hübner

This course provides an integrated view of the four complementary dimensions of Multi-Agent Oriented Programming (MAOP): agent, interaction, environment, and organization. We illustrate the approach by using the JaCaMo framework, which provides the means to integrate these dimensions.

Fundamentals of ROS

Prof. Leandro Becker

This course introduces the Robot Operating System (ROS), focusing on its essential concepts, such as nodes, topics, messages, and services. These concepts are explored in practice through simple experiments using ROS resources.

Interfacing BDI Agents and ROS

Prof. Maiquel de Brito

This course introduces the programming of BDI agents for controlling ROS-based robots. Agents are programmed using the JaCaMo framework. It provides tools for developing not only the agents but also for facilitating interaction between them, coordinating their activities, and exploring resources available in the environment.

Distributed and Embedded MAS

Profs. Carlos Pantoja e Nilson Lazarin

We introduce the development of cognitive, autonomous, and collaborative IoT devices that are capable of perceiving, deciding, and acting in the real world. For this, we are using an embedded multi-agent systems approach that allows the implementation of mental attitudes of beliefs, desires, and intentions into physical devices.

Agentic AI

Prof. Julio Cesar dos Reis

This course presents concepts and practical aspects of building multi-agent systems exploring language models. We present the LangGraph for building agents based on execution graphs. It addresses concepts of tools, reasoning, memory, and planning, combining conceptual foundations with practical demonstrations.
